Annual Meet & Greet

Each school year Country Isles has a “Meet and Greet”. The purpose of this event is to give students and parents a chance to personally meet their teacher for the upcoming school year.

This year’s annual meet and greet has been planned for
August 19, 2016 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

This event is not an open house and there is no need to stay for the entire session. The Meet and Greet’s purpose is to informally meet this year’s teacher, see the classroom and its location, pick up a supplies list, and get any other relative information for the first day. A more formal open house will be scheduled for the beginning of the school year where curriculum and classroom policies and procedures will be discussed in detail.

It is our hope that coming in prior to the start of school will help to relieve any anxiety one might feel toward the first day.

Our teachers are eager to meet you and we look forward to your visit on August 19th!

Summer Reading Challenge
Students who meet the Camp Read-A-Lot Challenge will be recognized in the fall. Mrs. Morgan and Mrs. Cox will host a special awards ceremony for all students who have completed the challenge.

This summer, our school is challenging every student to read and be a member of Camp Read-A-Lot. To meet the challenge, students in Kindergarten through grade two are required to read 25 picture books. Kindergarten children may have the books read to them. Students in Grades 3 and 4 are required to read six chapter books (at their independent level) to meet the challenge.

Students will use this log to record the books they have read. We encourage all students to read more than the required amount and to read a variety of genre’. Students should continue to read throughout the summer!

Click here for the reading log.

Country Isles students will have access to thousands of enhanced digital books that meet your child’s interest and ability level. Have your child log on to myOn and READ, READ, READ!

Students log into MyOn using:
User ID = Student Number
Password = Birthday xx/xx/xxxx

Students currently in grades 1-5 can continue to log on to iStation through July 31, 2016.

Students log into iStation using:
User ID = Student Number
Password = Birthday xx/xx/xxxx

In addition to reading, it is important for your child to maintain his/her math fluency skills.
Students can continue to build their fluency skills through the use of these websites.
